Peer Support in ACS Barker — Fostering a Caring School Community
I helped develop and promote the Peer Support program at ACS Barker to create a supportive environment where students can help each other through challenges, both academic and personal.
What I Did
Organized and trained student volunteers to provide empathetic listening and guidance to their peers
Facilitated regular peer support sessions and awareness activities around mental health and well-being
Created resources and communication materials to encourage students to reach out and support one another
Collaborated with school counselors and staff to ensure effective and safe support networks
Why It Matters

Builds a positive school culture centered on kindness, trust, and community
Encourages early intervention and connects students to professional help if needed
Empowers students to develop leadership, communication, and emotional skills
